Troubleshooting
Getting back into a camera that does not answer, and the usual suspects.
The camera is not on the network
- Wait two minutes. The
wifiservice retries with backoff and escalates up to a USB power cycle of the radio before it gives up a round. - Check the card. Pull it and read
anyka_rust/logs/boot.log,init.logandwifi.logon your computer.wifi statuson the camera shows the reconciler's view. - Wrong network settings? If you set
wifi_ssid, the camera rolls back to the last network it saw working when the new one does not come up, and tries again after 30 minutes. - Rescue shell. With
start_telnetd=1, a root shell answers on port 23 even ifsshdfailed.
Serial console
The UART is the way in when nothing else works: 115200 8N1 on the camera's
TX/RX/GND pads (3.3 V — do not connect a 5 V adapter). Paste commands slowly;
the console drops characters when input arrives too fast.
Root password
The stock root password is not published. Without it, interrupt U-Boot (the boot
delay is 0, so press a key repeatedly while powering on) and boot with
init=/bin/sh for a password-free root shell, then run the rollback.
Undo the autostart patch
sh /mnt/disc1/kamoder-flash/rollback.sh # dry run
sh /mnt/disc1/kamoder-flash/rollback.sh --write # restore the original APP partitionKnown quirks
| Symptom | Cause / fix |
|---|---|
| Wi-Fi drops during a big upload | The SSV6x5x driver wedges under sustained load. Upload stripped binaries in small chunks; the recovery ladder brings the link back. |
| Clock shows 1970 | There is no RTC; time is right once NTP syncs. |
pidof, head, tail, dirname missing | The camera's BusyBox is minimal; scripts here avoid them. |
| Camera beeps and the Wi-Fi config changes | Something started the vendor /ipc/ipc. Never start it by hand: it rewrites the Wi-Fi configuration. |
onvif does not start | No ONVIF password: set onvif_password in camera.conf and reboot. |
| Locked out of the web UI | Delete etc/web-users, set web_admin_password, reboot. |
Symbolize a panic
A panic message names its source line, but a backtrace from the stripped binaries
on the card shows only addresses. Download the matching
kamoder-<version>-debug.tar.gz and resolve them on your computer:
llvm-addr2line -f -C -e kamoder-<version>-debug/<service> 0x<address>
